This website is owned and operated by TalentSpring, Inc. ("TalentSpring" or "we"). We understand you value your privacy. At TalentSpring, we want to make your experience online satisfying and safe. This privacy policy governs information that you provide to us or that we learn from your use of this website, and tells you how we may collect, use, and in some instances share this information.

WHAT WE COLLECT AND HOW WE COLLECT IT

We collect two categories of information from visitors to this website:

  1. Automatic Information Collection. We automatically collect certain information from you by analyzing your use of the website, such as your IP address, browser type, pages accessed, and duration of visit. This information does not necessarily enable us to personally identify you, and that is not our intention.

    To facilitate your use of this website and to collect this category of information from you, we use "cookies." A cookie is a small text file that a TalentSpring server transfers to your browser and that only a TalentSpring server can read. When you log onto a TalentSpring website, the cookie captures your username, a unique session identifier number, and other session data to enable you to view this website's various pages without having to authenticate you at each new page you want to view. We use cookies in various ways, including to record session information, user-specific information on what pages you access or visit, alert you to new areas that we think might be of interest to you when you return to our site, and customize web page content based on your browser type. A cookie does not read data off of your computer's hard drive or cookie files created by other sites. You may be able to disable or delete cookies from within your Internet browser application by accessing the security or privacy settings, but please be aware that you may be required to have cookies enables to access certain portions of this website.

  2. Collection of Voluntarily Provided Information. We collect personally-identifying information that you voluntarily provide to us by registering on the website for an account or services, purchasing services, requesting information from us, or participating in promotions. Examples of this category of information include your name, email address, address, resume or other job-related information, and credit card information.

    If you enter a resume or apply for a specific position on this website, you may be asked to provide information on your gender, race, or another personal characteristic that is a protected status under United States or other applicable law. Some employers are required by law to request this information from job applicants for meeting reporting and record-keeping obligations, but you are not required to provide this information to use any TalentSpring services. Your provision of this information is strictly voluntary. TalentSpring may disclose this information as further described in this privacy policy.

USE OF INFORMATION

TalentSpring uses your personally identifiable information to provide the products or services requested by you, to send you promotional information unless you have opted out of these types of communications from TalentSpring, and to enhance the operation of our website and administer our systems. The information is also used to verify your authority to access the website, contact you when reasonably necessary, and provide customer support for the website, including to send you administrative messages related to any services or products requested by you.


DISCLOSURE OF INFORMATION

TalentSpring may disclose your personally identifiable information to others in the following ways:

  1. TalentSpring may use certain third party vendors (e.g., data storage and processing facilities, resume analysts) to assist us in providing the products and services that you have requested from us. TalentSpring may transfer your personally-identifiable information to any vendor who has entered into a contract with us that protects the confidentiality of your information and permits the vendor to use it only as reasonably necessary to fulfill its contract with TalentSpring.

  2. If you have entered a resume or work profile, TalentSpring will disclose your resume or work profile, but not your name or contact information, to other TalentSpring members as necessary to evaluate your resume and determine your Merit Rank. This disclosure is required regardless of your anonymity setting.
    From your TalentSpring account, you may choose from the following "anonymity settings" regarding the accessibility of your resume or work profile once TalentSpring has determined your Merit Rank.
    • Resume viewable by anyone;
    • Resume viewable by employer accounts only; or
    • Resume viewable by employer accounts that you approve on a case-by-case basis.

    Your name and contact information will not be accessible in any of the anonymity settings to non-employer accounts. If you select the anonymity setting that enables all employers to view your resume, employers will automatically receive access to your name and contact information. If you select the anonymity setting that requires your case-by-case approval of employer access, your name and contact information will be accessible only by those employers to whom you grant access.


  3. If you opt-in to TalentSpring's "Merit Peak" feature, you will be able to view the work profile or resume contents of a sampling of other candidates who have also enabled Merit Peak. TalentSpring will make your work profile or resume contents viewable by up to 30 other TalentSpring Members who have enabled this feature, even after you disable the feature.

  4. If you have applied for a position via this website, we may disclose to the employer any protected status information about yourself that you have supplied in the member registration or job application process. Employers may use this information only in accordance with applicable law. TalentSpring will keep all such protected status information about you separate from your expression of interest in any job opportunity.

  5. If you have opted-in to a promotion that is sponsored by a TalentSpring partner, we may share the information collected for that promotion with the sponsor. If you do not wish to have your information shared with a sponsor, simply do not opt-in for the particular promotion or contest.

  6. We may also disclose your personally identifiable information as we believe is reasonably necessary to comply with law, regulation, or other governmental authority, or to prevent harm to yourself or others.

  7. Finally, we may disclose your personally identifiable information upon a transfer or sale to another entity of all or substantially all of our stock or assets in the line of business to which this privacy policy relates, or upon any other corporate reorganization.

    PLEASE BE AWARE THAT YOUR IDENTITY MAY BE DISCERNIBLE FROM THE RESUME CONTENTS AND EMPLOYMENT HISTORY THAT YOU PROVIDE ON YOUR RESUME, EVEN WITHOUT YOUR NAME OR CONTACT INFORMATION.


  8. CLOSING YOUR ACCOUNT

    When you close your TalentSpring account, we retain an electronic copy of your resume in our archives and may retain other personally identifiable information we have collected from you during your membership. We may use this information for internal purposes only, and will not disclose any personally identifiable information about you to a third party except as described in this privacy policy. If you reactivate your account, we will use the information about you in our archive to verify new information submitted by you.

    LINKS

    For your convenience, we may provide links to other websites, products, or services that are not owned or operated by TalentSpring. If you choose to visit a non-TalentSpring website or use non-TalentSpring products or services, please be aware that TalentSpring's privacy policy will NOT apply to your activities or any information you disclose while interacting with the provider of any non-TalentSpring website, products, or services.

    NO COLLECTION OF INFORMATION FROM CHILDREN

    We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information relating to children. In the event that we learn that we have collected personally identifiable information from anyone under 13 years of age without prior parental consent, we will take steps to promptly delete such information. By providing your personal information to TalentSpring through this website, you represent that you are 13 years of age or older.

    INTERNATIONAL VISITORS AND CUSTOMERS

    This website is hosted in the United States and is generally intended for United States visitors. If you are visiting from Canada, the European Union or other regions with laws governing data collection and use that may differ from U.S. law, please note that you are transferring your personal data to the United States, and by providing your personal data you consent to the use of your personal data for the purposes identified above in accordance with this privacy policy, and the transfer of your personal data to the United States as indicated above.

    SECURITY

    TalentSpring employs procedural and technological measures, consistent with legal requirements and the demands of customer service, that are reasonably designed to protect your personal information from loss, misuse, or unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. Please note, though, that no data transmissions over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. Consequently, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us, and you do so at your own risk.

    CHANGES AND UPDATES

    We may occasionally update this privacy policy. When we do, we will also revise the "last updated" date at the beginning of the policy. We encourage you to periodically review this privacy policy to stay informed about how we are using and protecting the information we collect. Your continued use of this website constitutes your agreement to TalentSpring's then-current privacy policy.
